Each year we choose a charity to support. Our Charity Committee Head is Jodi Sutherland-Schmidt.
Members and non-members are invited to help out and/or donate supplies/quilts.
Current Charities:
"The Strathcona Shelter Society operates an emergency shelter for women and children, a crisis and family violence information line, provides community outreach, and public education to end domestic violence in our community."
A Safe Place is looking for the following items for both children and women that come through their doors in need:
Strathcona Community Emergency Hospital.
Strathcona Community Emergency is looking for quilts for their pediatric bereavement boxes. These boxes are given to parents whose children pass away in the Emergency room from any medical issue. They like to give the family a blanket that they are able to hold their child in while they say goodbye and are able to take the blanket home with them after the event. The quilt size can be a baby quilt or a lap quilt - as they want them to be big enough to wrap around/comfort the child.
