Our purpose is to promote an appreciation for quilting as a traditional craft and a contemporary art form; to provide educational opportunities by presenting general meetings, speakers, workshops and other activities related to quilt making; to preserve and perpetuate the tradition of quilt making in the County of Strathcona and to encourage an appreciation of this heritage.

Each year we choose a charity to support. Our Charity Committee Head is Joy Hanson. Members can get in touch with Joy if they have ideas for Charity, or if they want to help out or donate supplies/quilts. Our Charity of choice for 2019-2020 will be announced at a later date.
For 2018-2019 our charity of choice was CASA. CASA is a charitable organization providing mental health services for infants, children, adolescents, and their families in the Edmonton Zone (including Sherwood Park), as well as from central and northern Alberta. Learn more about CASA here.
The Sherwood Park Quilt Guild made about 60 twin size quilts, which were delivered to CASA House Program Manager Janet Cathro at the June 2019 monthly meeting.
