Charity

Current Goal: 50 Donations this year

Each year we choose who to support. Members and non-members are invited to help out and/or donate supplies/quilts. A special Thank you goes out to Northcott Fabrics and to County Clothes-Line Foundation for their generous donations in support of our many projects! We've got about 52 quilt kits in various stages, all just waiting to be brought to life!

Bags of Love

Bags of Love working with Child & Family Services to provide bags for children that have to be removed from their home for their own safety. All items are for children from months to 17 years old. Each bag is sewn, and includes a quilt among other items the child will need for their first night.

Strathcona Community Emergency Hospital.

Strathcona Community Emergency is looking for quilts for their pediatric bereavement boxes. These boxes are given to parents whose children pass away in the Emergency room from any medical issue. They like to give the family a blanket that they are able to hold their child in while they say goodbye and are able to take the blanket home with them after the event. The quilt size can be a baby quilt or a lap quilt - as they want them to be big enough to wrap around/comfort the child.

A Safe Place

"The Strathcona Shelter Society operates an emergency shelter for women  and children, a crisis and family violence information line, provides  community outreach, and public education to end domestic violence in our  community."

A Safe Place is looking for the following items for both children and women that come through their doors in need:

  • Twin size quilts
  • Wishlist of non-quilt related items on their website
