Next Meeting - Oct 9 9025 - IN person & Zoom
Our purpose is to promote an appreciation for quilting as a traditional craft and a contemporary art form; to provide educational opportunities by presenting quilting programs, speakers, workshops and other activities related to quilting techniques; to preserve and perpetuate the tradition of quilt making in the County of Strathcona and to encourage an appreciation of this heritage.
Quilters love to give back to the community of Strathcona County! Our members have been making quilts, placemats, Christmas stockings, and so much more. We donate these items to local community charities through our planned charity drives, and many members also contribute their quilting efforts to other good causes.
Community is also closer to home. Our quilting programs, retreats, UFO days, and our virtual sew days offer our members opportunities to grow friendships. We share ideas, quilting techniques, offer encouragement, and learn from each other too.
Our Quilting Programs at our monthly meetings and workshops offer members opportunities to learn about quilting techniques and projects. Trunk shows are a great opportunity to learn about new tools in quilt making. Demos show how to master specific techniques or use specific tools.
Show & Tell is a great opportunity to share what we have learned and created. It is an important part of our monthly meetings, zoom sew days, UFO days and retreats.
We meet as a large group each month September through June for our quilting programs to share our ideas and creations.
Members meet regularly In-Person at UFO Days and workshops, and Remotely on Zoom to share in quilt making and our quilting techniques
Workshops and UFO-Unfinished Objects Days are held throughout the year. These In-Person events are quilting programs focused on quilt making and improving quilting techniques.

Quilt Shows are generally held every second year. Lots of fun, and a great opportunity to showcase members' creativity in quilt making!

Land Acknowledgement
We respectfully recognize that we live, work, and play on Treaty 6 territory — the traditional meeting grounds, gathering place, and travelling route of the Cree, Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Métis, Dene, and Nakota Sioux peoples. We honour and acknowledge the many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit whose footsteps have marked these lands for centuries. Their histories, languages, and cultures continue to enrich our shared community today and into the future.
